Porchlight EatsThe hunt for homemade.

How it works

Porchlight Eats is a community-made map of independent food makers around Greater Sacramento: cottage bakers, home cooks, jam makers, pop-ups and market stalls that are hard to find on the big apps.

Anyone can add a find

If you discover a great local maker, add them with their name, what they make, a rough area and a link to their public business page. We review new finds once a week before they appear.

We only list makers who already promote their business publicly, and we link to their own pages so you order directly from them. We never take a cut.

No paid placement

Listings are free. Nobody can pay to rank higher or to remove fair feedback. If we ever accept sponsors, they'll be clearly labeled and kept separate from the listings.

Privacy for home-based makers

Home-based makers appear as a general area on the map, never a home address. Only public places like market stalls and storefronts get an exact pin.

What the labels mean

Community added: shared by someone in the community. We check that the link works, not every detail.

Permit on file: we found the maker in public county cottage food records on the date shown. It isn't an inspection or an endorsement.

May be outdated: nobody has confirmed the details in a while. If you know more, suggest an edit.

Removal and corrections

Any maker can fix their listing or have it removed from its page, without creating an account. A removal request takes the listing off the map right away, and we confirm within 7 days. No reason needed.
